Warlock's Tower Part 2
Warlock is the top body modder in the sims community so it would be a shame to glance over all the cool bodyshapes he's added to the sims. Here's a link to a guide to all his newest shapes by cup size and the appropriate links to the content.
Bootygal, this curvaceous gal was made with an astounding backside, full ample bosom, round tummy and a smooth, curvy shape from her head to her toes.
Rio Based on Brazilian Playboy model Ellen Roche, as well as celebrities like J-Lo and Vida Guerra, and intended as a more realistic alternative to the BootyGal, this shape has a full, round backside, narrow waist, and natural but perky breasts I would guess are around a D.
Renaissance Gal, a shape inspired by the artwork of Greek sculptors and Renaissance art, and by full-figured women everywhere, the Renaissance Gal! Her shape speaks for itself, just look at those curves... full round bottom, ample breasts, a larger torso and tummy, she will definitely stand out from all of my previous work.
Fashion Model Bodyshape. Inspired by modern fashion/runway models seen in women's
magazines everywhere, this shape has a narrow waist and flat tummy, with curvy hips and backside and perky breasts. She is around a 32C-24-34, I would estimate (but don't hold me to that), compared to the default 34B-28-34 shape.
PowerGirl. Inspired by the buxom ladies of superhero comics, mixed with a bit of modern fitness models, and a bit of Frazetta-esque fantasy illustration style thrown in, she's a striking figure in any situation. With an expanded torso, arms and thighs, a very flat tummy, thin waist, and a decidedly ample busom, she will be sure to break hearts (or heads) in any sim neighborhood!
Classic Pinup. Hearken back to the heydays of the Silver Screen, the Vargas Girls, the immortal Pinup... names like Marilyn Monroe, Bettie Page, Mae West, the original Playmates from the 50's and 60's... real women, with real curves, and real class.

Where do I put my downloaded Residential/Community Lots?
Copy/move the sims2pack file into your downloads folder. Double-click on the file, and the a little window will appear asking whether you want to install the custom house/object. Just click install, and there you go! The new house will show up in your the bin with the rest of the Maxi's houses, ready for you to place in your neighbourhood.

Paysites Must be Destroyed
If you've noticed some of these posts where I've listed paysites, you've probably been curious if there was a place you could get such content for free. After all EA Games did rule that fansites should not charge for any content as they do basically come back to being part of their game. Well there is a placce where you can find such content (and lots of it) but you will rarely hear mention of its name (in fact many forum's will ban you if you mention the site). We'll smash down that taboo by not only mentioning it but also giving you a direct link. Until all sites become free it's up to these brave pirates to help spread the booty!

Creative Photos
"It's just a matter of doing your best to synch up the characters and the creative use of the pause button. Another trick is slow motion (slow motion 0-8 where 0 is regular speed and 8 is really-really super slow)
If you're using Squinge's Hula & More mode- there are a few still poses in there. I find that the fewer Sims in motion, the easier they are to pose- but conversely less interesting as well.
Also play with the camera angles, in free-cam mode (tab) you can navigate using the left-hand alpha keys- w and s move the view back and forth, a and d for side to side, z and x to zoom in and out and the really cool ones are q and e that raise and lower the camera angle."

Don't use the in-game camera for your screenshots (defaults will be 300x400 and even high quality adjustements only move it to slightly higher) Here's the screen capture program I'm using now instead of the in-game version!!

Using boolprop cheats is a great way to get the best pics.
(just hold ctrl + shift + c to open the cheat menu) Good cheats:
moveObjects on (If you find a pose that you like, simply pause the game, go to the buy menu and er.. move and re-position your sim's as you see fit.It's all about er, um,...capturing the moment. With the move_objects cheat on and boolprop snapObjectsToGrid false cheat's enabled, you can go to the buy menu and move one sim onto another. (see here for detailed view and more advice). Take your photo.
boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false Turns off the gridlines, (Please note that if you have this cheat set to false, your windows and doors will no longer place properly - you will need to set it back to true ( boolProp snapObjectsToGrid true ) for them to snap into place.)

maxMotives Maxes all the needs and motives (hunger, bladder, etc.) of every sim on the lot. Very useful for keeping sims from wetting themselves while you're trying to get them to pose. You will need Nightlife or later expansions to use this cheat.
stretchSkeleton 0.80 up to stretchSkeleton 1.20 to temporarily change height. If you want your taller sim to liplock your smaller sim you can temporarily shrink your taller sim and zoom in tight. for those complaining about characters not able to kiss or interact appropriately this can temporarily fix it (if you zoom in and angle it correctly)

You can copy & paste from this list on the type that is in bold. If you mistype and see an error you can type clear to get that eror msg out and exit to exit out of boolprop altogether You can exit out of the game and all these changes will be gone. GunMod's Camera Hack will give you MUCH better control of the camera in Cameraman mode, and allow angles and shots you could never achieve with the limits on the default camera.

A mesh is like a sculpture while and a recoloring or coloring works like a painting. It's the recolor that lies on top of the mesh. Some shapes are NOT in the game so they are designed with outside programs and brought into the game. These includ body modifications, dresses, skirts, hair, and all kinds of objects. Other meshes come with the game so they are not needed to additionally download. Standard objects in the game have their own meshes to, not just body modifcations.
You will need to pay attention when you download from websites that you download any meshes that are required. If you don't your outfits or objects will not show up or will be shown as Maxis defaults (generally a red shirt and khaki pants). Milkshake is the program to use to make meshes but beware its tricky stuff. If you can do stuff like Poser than you may be able to make the more simplified meshes for the Sims.

Speed Up Your Game
Getting rid of the movies,
The movies are called ealogo_audio (the EA logo), and intro_eng_movie (the startup movie) and they can be found in the C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Movies folder.You can delete either or both of them with no harm to the game.
Deleting you groups.cache file which can be found in MyDocuments/EAGames/TheSims2 can do wonders for speeding up your game. The next time you start The Sims 2, your game will regenerate this file as it comes when your game is new, and you will not lose any data. It can also get rid of a lot of bugs and glitches. Just to see how much this could help you, see how big your groups.cache file is. It will go to 14 kb when it re-generates itself. My file was 130 kb before I deleted it, and now my game runs TONS faster!
Defragment your drive regularly. Find the defragment tool at Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter.
In the game under the Graphics and Performance panels, turning off or down some of the options will improve your game speed, but not quality. Reflections, Screen Size, and Smooth Edges are the options that will affect your frame rate the most, followed by Shadows and Lighting.

All About Style

Age & Height
Let's have a frank discussion about age and The Sims 2. First let's discuss the age cycle.
There are technically 5 life cycles shown here. Guessing at their apparent age group you have the toddler (age 2), child(age 8), teenager (16), adult(32), and elder (let's say 64). Only 2 cycles missing are baby (not shown age (less then a year) and the young adult (roughly 21 years old) which is a transition age only used in the University Expansion when teenagers go to college.
The Sims 2 by default is a very tame game. Teens can only kiss other teens (when in love) and that is it. For those who want a realistic game of Sims you must use a hack to enable woohoo for teens. The core 3 hacks being:Woohoo Teens, the InTeenimater , or Autonomous Casual Romance. The Inteenimater is likely the most often used and tested. Teens will be able to woohoo and get pregnant after you install this hack. The pregnancy will show in the second and third trimesters if you choose clothing with the pregnancy mesh. Woohoo is allowed between Sims without being in love. No jealousy hack is also included. Also adults and teens can...you know...

For those who wanted an even younger interaction they are unable to use these 3 teen hacks for them as they work for teenagers and none younger. However the one moderation that is possible is to use SimPe and to change the age of an in-game charcter. While this won't physically turn a child into a teenager it will create the mindset of a teenager in the character of a child and keeping the body the same. Only major drawback is a phenomenon called hovering. Since the child in the game thinks they are a teenager (if they are set to that in SimPe) they will be expected to have a similar height. The game adjusts to that by invisibly raising the character up about a foot. The picture shown to the right shows a characters side by side with a proper teenager and the difference between the two. Kind of a drag frankly...

What I would personally recommend (if you are inclined) is the use of stretching (or also squishing if you want to be grammatically correct). This can be done two seperate ways, the temporary way is to highlight the sim you want to change, use boolprop (get the command line by using cntrl-shift-c) and then type in stretchSkeleton 0.80 to stretchSkeleton 1.20. as you can see here. If you are changing a child or an adult their default is 1.00, if its a teen then its .93 (because its basically a slightly shrunken adult). This is a temporary change and once you exit out of the game the adjustment is lost.

A visual guide is here (along with many other hints) at my imagefap account. Don't use a value of less then 0.80 or higher then 1.20 of it'll look bad. Remember that squished teens still have curvy breasts and stretch children are still flat as boards. Teens will always taller too.

A guide to changing the height of sims permanently with SimPE is here and here. This allows you to keep your characters teenagers, stops the hovering phenomenon, and allows you to use all the standard clothing that your teen character would usually wear. It does allow your teenager to be stretched taller or shorter so that your average looking 16 year old teen can look younger (say like 10 or 12). Both teens on the left are the exact same life cycle age of teenager and yet the redhead has been stretched to 80% of the standard size while keeping a realistic body shape. All the benfits of this change allows your teenager to act as a regular teenager with all the benefits. Works very well. It adds much needed variety.
Sims 2 Tools (Programs)
These are a variety of Tools outside the standard program which are very useful for modding and improving your game play.
Body Shop is a program created by Maxis, that comes with Sims 2, that allows users to create new textures for sim-related content like skintones, hair, clothing, makeup, eyes, etc
Clean Installer is used to install Sims2pack files containing content to the game, allowing the user to choose which content to install. Used to clean Sims2pack files of unwanted content, useful to creators uploading sims2packs with items they do not wish to include. Also used to provide information on the contents of the Downloads folder including showing an image of the texture the item uses, if present. This can be helpful in organizing custom content.
Milkshape 3D is a 3-D program that can be used to make meshes for all clothing and body modifications.
SimPE is a modding tool designed for use with The Sims 2 and is often regarded as the most widely used program of its kind in the community.
